Week 4 Blog Task Recording Reality

Coronation Street was first broadcast on Granada on 9th of December 1960. The show was soon syndicated on the ITV franchises. The programme centres on the lives of a group of people who live on a street in the fictional town of Wethersfield, a town based in Salford. The street consists of different terraced houses and businesses including newsagents, a cafĂ©, a corner shop, a textile factory and The Rovers Return Pub. According to the show’s fictional history, the street dates from the early 1900s and was named at the time of the coronation of King Edward VII. Coronation Street is made by Granada Television at the Media City in Trafford Wharf in Great Manchester. The program shows in all ITV regions. Coronation Street has become the world’s longest running television show as of 17th September 2010. Coronation Street broadcasts five episodes a week. Each episode lasts 30 minutes. The scheduling of Coronation Street is designed not to clash with the scheduling of its biggest soap rival.

The Most Hated Family In America ( Formative assessment (shared with Recording Reality students)

The Most Hated Family In America  The documentary is about the Westboro Baptist Church located in Topecka Kansas, the head of which is Fred Phelps. The Westboro Baptist Church members are most famous for protesting at the funerals of American solders killed in action, holding signs like “God Hates Fags” and “ Thank God For Dead Soldiers ”. When writing a documentary, Louis speaks to a few members of The Westboro Baptist Church. Shirley Phelps-Roper is the matriarch of the family. She is in charge of a family of 11 kids. She organizes all of the church’s protests and often appears in the news as a mouth piece. For example at the beginning of the documentary, we see a snippet of a recent studio interview she gave on a national news show. Louis interviews Shirley principally to find out what reasoning and arguments lie behind The Westboro Baptist Church’s actions. Recording Reality Assignment 2: Personal Blog I was put with two other people to work Mitch and Joe. As a group we had to create a Reflexive Documentary. Mitch created a Facebook chat to communicate with each other. I choose to write about Supersize me documentary. The reason that I choose to write about this documentary was that I new allot information about this documentary. We meet up 7 th November and had a group meeting during the course we wrote and send the information but and forward making sure all the information we covered. On 10 th November 2017 we had a big presentation before hand we meet up in the library and went through roughly. In the big presentation I believe that as group we did not presented has well as we could.

For the first assignment the teacher Ms Ruth showed us how to film a interviewing few questions that had an emotional impact in the lives. As a group we had to film an interview that had an emotional attachment to their story. I created a group chat using WhatsApp so that everyone could be connected.
